Please use the troubleshooting below to resolve the following issues with American Truck Simulator (ATS) and Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2).

  • ATS or ETS2 is not providing telemetry data
  • No SDK Confirmation when starting ATS or ETS2
  • No Traction Loss and No Wheel Slip/Lock effects
  • Truck Names Appear Incorrectly

ATS or ETS2 is not providing telemetry data

If you are not receiving telemetry data from American Truck Simulator or Euro Truck Simulator 2 for motion, shaking or wind, please try the steps below:

  1. Check to see if ATS or ETS2 are listed as Ready to play by going to GAMES > PC in Sim Racing Studio.

  2. If American Truck Simulator or Euro Truck Simulator 2 show a Config button, press the Config button to setup ATS/ETS2.

  3. Once configured, ATS or ETS2 will show up as Ready to play

  4. Telemetry should now be working for ATS and ETS 2; however, if there are issues continue to the next step.

  5. Verify the the ets2-telemetry.dll file installed correctly in the plugins folder. The default location on Windows 10 with Steam is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\American Truck Simulator\bin\win_x64\plugins

IMPORTANT NOTE: The ets2-telemetry.dll file should be automatically installed by Sim Racing Studio when the Config button is pressed. However, since it is a .dll file, Windows and/or Anti-Virus software might block or warn of downloading and install the file. The file is safe for use and only adds the additional functionality to ATS and ETS2 to export telemetry. Please allow Windows or any Anti-Virus software that is blocking installation or use of the ets2-telemetry.dll file.

The ets2-telemetry.dll file can be downloaded directly from here if needed. If you see the message below when downloading the ets2-telemetry.dll file, press Keep to ensure the download completes.

  6. Once the .dll is installed in the correct folder, when you next launch ATS or ETS2 you will see a CONFIMATION pop-up window advising of the request to use advanced SFK features detected.
  7. Click OK

  8. Telemetry support for ATS and ETS2 should now be working. Note: The pop-up CONFIRMATION window will occur every time you launch ATS or ETS2. There is no way to disable it.

No SDK Confirmation starting ATS or ETS2

Due to the .dll utilized by ATS and ETS2 for motion, the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 might be required. This will allow ATS and ETS2 to utilize the telemetry .dll file.

Follow the link to install the required Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012:

https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/

Once installed, please restart your PC and the SDK Confirmation pop-up should now be working.

If you are still having crashes, please uninstall each of the C++ Redistributables and then reinstall them individually.

No Traction Loss and No Wheel Slip/Lock effects

There is no output of telemetry available for Traction Loss or Wheel Slip/Lock for either ATS or ETS2.

Truck Names Appear Incorrectly

Sim Racing Studio supports individual truck motion profiles for both ATS and ETS2. However, the correct truck name will not be displayed. Truck names will appear as either random numbers or names (ex. 00, 9, rails, them, etc). This is not a bug in SRS. These sims do not export the correct truck name with the telemetry output.
