Please use the guidance below to setup your Prosimu motion platform to work with Sim Racing Studio. The guide will cover the following topics:

  • Windows Configuration for Dyadic (SCN6) actuator(s)
  • Sim Racing Studio Setup
  • Game Setup

  • Using Prosimu with a Game

  • Prosimu Motion Tuning

Windows Configuration for Dyadic (SCN6) actuator(s)

Use the COM Ports configuration process below only if you have DYADIC (SCN6) actuator(s). If you have PRS200 actuator(s), skip to the Sim Racing Studio Setup section as the COM Port will be configured during setup.

Configuring the COM Ports in Windows for Dyadic (SCN6) actuator(s)

  • In Windows 7, go the Start Menu and select Control Panel. Next select System and then Device Manager. In the Device Manager, expand Ports (COM & LPT)
  • In Windows 10, right click on the Start Menu, select Device Manager, and then expand Ports (COM & LPT)
  1. In the Ports (COM & LPT) list, double click on the item that's listed as USB Serial Port (COMXX). Note: COMXX will show a number representing the COM Port utilized. ie. COM8
  2. In the USB Serial Port (COMXX) Properties window, confirm that the Manufacturer is FTDI
  3. Click OK
  4. Reopen the USB Serial Port (COMXX) by double clicking on it and select the Port Settings tab again
  5. Click the Advanced... button
  6. Set the Latency Timer (msec) to Latency to 1
  7. Click the box next to Set RTS On Close to add a check mark so its active
  8. Click OK twice to close all the windows
  9. Reopen the USB Serial Port (COMXX)  one more time and verify all the changes you made have been saved correctly.

Sim Racing Studio Installation

  1. Close all other motion software before installing Sim Racing Studio.
  2. Download and install Sim Racing Studio here.
  3. Once Sim Racing Studio is installed, follow the guidance here to activate your license.

Hardware Configuration

  1. Once your license has been activated, click SETUP at the top and select Hardware in the left toolbar.
  2. Scroll down to the Motion section and set the Manufacturer as PROSIMU and change the Model field to your specific model

  3. If you have PRS200 platform, set it's COM Port in the Vertical PRS200/50 drop down box and Sim Racing Studio will automatically connect to all your actuators. If you have a Dyadic 2M or 3M model, skip to step 10.

Steps 4 through 7 below are only for DYADIC 2M or 3M Models.
If you have a PRS200 model, skip to Step 8.

  4. Once set, the platform will move to the home position and show a yellow question mark in the HARDWARE STATUS box
  5. Click on the Gear icon next to the Model name

  6. An Axis Assignment window will open. Map each controller box to it’s relative position located on your platform (Front Left, Front-Right, Traction Loss). The Serial Number of the controller should match with the mapping (see the image below for the location of the Serial Number). It is recommended to leave Speed and Acceleration as suggested in Sim Racing Studio.
  7. Click on Confirm once done.
  8. A green check mark will show next to Motionbox in HARDWARE STATUS

  9. Sim Racing Studio is now ready to test the platform motion. Click on the Start Test button and move the sliders from left to right check if the platform is moving correctly.
  10. Once finished testing, click Stop Test
  11. Click the Save button in the top right of Sim Racing Studio in the PROFILE IN USE box

Game Setup

Sim Racing Studio will attempt to automate any games that are supported to make them ready to play. If the game is installed on your PC and it's ready to play with no further action needed, you will see Ready to play listed in the STATUS column in the GAMES > PC or Console page. You can find more information on making a game Ready to play here. For Console games, please use the guidance here.

If you have issues making a Sim Racing Studio supported game work with your Prosimu platform, please submit a New Support Ticket at the top of this page.

Using Prosimu with a Game

Sim Racing Studio will automatically connect to a game once its started. However, some games might require you to start the race to connect whereas others might connect from the main menu.

You can verify your Prosimu platform is connected to the game from the status shown in the PROFILE IN USE box in the upper right of Sim Racing Studio. There are 3 game statuses available:

  1. STAND BYIndicates a game is not running and Sim Racing Studio is standing by to start.
  2. GAME RUNNINGIndicates a game is detected; however, no telemetry to move platform has yet to be received. For some games this is normal as they only send telemetry once you are on the track or in the air within the game
    1. The GAME RUNNING status allows you to use the TUNING -> MOTION page in order to make changes to the tuning parameters for the game.
  3. TELEMETRY DATA: Indicates that Sim Racing Studio is receiving telemetry data from the game for motion. If there is a green check mark next to Motionbox in the HARDWARE STATUS box, the platform will be moving based on the telemetry from the game. If there is no motion, ensure the YawVR platform is turned On.
    1. You can get additional information on hardware statuses by hovering your cursor over the items listed in the HARDWARE STATUS box.
