Please use the troubleshooting below to resolve the following issues with iRacing: 

  • iRacing not working with motion, shake or wind
  • iRacing Force Feedback (FFB)



iRacing not working with motion, shake or wind

Please make the following changes with Notepad in the app.ini file located in your ...\Documents\iRacing folder:

  1. Close Sim Racing Studio and iRacing  
  2. Open the app.ini file in Notepad located in your ...\Documents\iRacing folder
  3. Make sure the following variables are set correctly in the app.ini file:  

    irsdkEnableDisk=1    ; enable disk-based telemetry
    irsdkEnableMem=1  ; enable memory-based telemetry
    irsdkLog360Hz=0     ; Log some telemetry at 360 Hz rather than at 60 Hz


  4. Be sure to save the app.ini file when finished 
  5. Launch Sim Racing Studio and iRacing




iRacing Force Feedback (FFB) 

If you open Sim Racing Studio after iRacing is running, iRacing Force Feedback may no longer work.


Try the steps below to restore the Force Feedback by setting it to auto-reset after 1 second by making the following changes in the app.ini file located in your ...\Documents\iRacing folder:

  1. Close Sim Racing Studio and iRacing
  2. Open the app.ini file in Notepad located in your ...\Documents\iRacing folder
  3. Make sure the following variables are set correctly in the app.ini file:

    [Force Feedback] 
    resetWhenFFBLost=1 
    enableHotPlug=1 

  4. Be sure to save the app.ini file when finished
  5. Launch Sim Racing Studio and iRacing
