Please use the troubleshooting below to resolve the following issues for your U-Shake6.

  • Vibration is only coming from the Front Left (FL) and Front Right (FR) shakers
  • No vibration coming from any shaker
  • Low volume game or high pitch sound is coming from the U-Shake6 shakers
  • Only one U-Shake6 shaker is not working

Vibration is only coming from the Front Left (FL) and Front Right (FR) shakers

This is due to Windows having the Speakers (USB Sound Device) utilized by the U-Shake6 set to Stereo in the Sound Control Panel. The Speakers (USB Sound Device) needs to be set to 5.1 Surround in order for all the U-Shake6 shakers to work. Please try the setup instructions again found here starting at Step 5.

No vibration coming from any shaker

When testing the U-Shake6 in the Windows sound panel or Sim Racing Studio and no tone or vibration comes from any shaker, please perform the following troubleshooting steps below:

Disconnect the U-Shake6 box and Power Supply Unit

Unplug the USB cord to the U-Shake6 box and disconnect the Power Supply Unit for approximately 5 minutes, then re-connect the both the U-Shake6 box and Power Supply Unit. This will allow the U-Shake6 to reset internally.

Retry the U-Shake6 setup

Please retry the U-Shake6 setup guidance found here and ensure each setting is still correct. Windows can sometimes reset the settings during an update, when moving USB devices, or change in Sound settings.

5.1 to 7.1 Surround Setting

If you set the speakers to 5.1 during setup, please try setting them to 7.1. Follow the U-Shake6 setup guidance here and change them from 5.1 to 7.1 in Step 9.

Checking the U-Shake6 Power Supply

  1. Check if the Blue LED on the Power Supply Brick is on and steady (see picture below).

  2. If there is no steady Blue LED on the Power Supply Brick:
    1. Try to push the Power Cord harder into the side of the Power Supply Brick.

    2. Try using a different PC Power Cord. A standard PC Power Cord will work with the U-Shake6 Power Supply Brick.

  3. If none of the steps above result in the Blue LED light coming on, the Power Supply Unit is defective. Please Submit a New Ticket from the top of this page indicating: "I used the U-Shake6 Troubleshooting instructions and I confirmed my Power Supply Unit is defective. Please send a replacement to {your name} at {your current address}."

Note: If a replacement Power Supply is needed, a 12 volt 10 amp 120W (100V to 240V) power supply will work.

Low volume game or high pitch sound is coming from the U-Shake6 shakers

If you hear low volume game noise or hear a constant high pitch noise, please ensure the USB Sound Device used for the U-Shake6 is not the default recording/input device in Windows. This can occur if the volume is loud in the room and the U-Shake6 is set as the default recording defice, sound will be replayed back through U-Shake shakers. The high pitch noise can also be the U-Shake6 picking up ambient noise in the room and amplifying it back through the shakers. This will occur if the U-Shake is set as the default Recording device in Sound settings. Please follow the steps below to confirm or change the default device settings:

1) Open the Sound Control Panel per the instructions in the U-Shake6 setup guide here

2) Select the Recording tab at the top.

3) Make sure the Speakers USB Sound Device is not the Default Device for Windows as shown in the image above. If the USB Sound Device is the Default Device, Windows will try to use the U-Shake6 like a microphone.

If the USB Sound Device is listed as Default Device, select your PC default microphone/recording device in the window, right click on the selection, and choose Set as Default Device. You can also select your PC default recording device and click the Set Default button at the bottom of the window. This will make sure your U-Shake6 is not utilized by Windows as a recording device.

If the USB Sound Device is also listed as the Default Communication Device, do the same as above and select the Set as Default Communication Device for your PC microphone or recording device.

Once the USB Sound Device is no longer the Default Device, it should appears as the image below.

If the issue continues, please try unplugging the USB cord to the U-Shake6 box and disconnect the Power Supply Unit for approximately 5 minutes, then re-connect the both the U-Shake6 box and Power Supply Unit. This will allow the U-Shake6 to reset internally.

If the above troubleshooting is unable to resolve an issue with you U-Shake6, please Submit a New Ticket at the top of this page

Only one U-Shake6 shaker is not working

If more than one shaker is not working, it is likely a setup issue in Windows. Please try the setup instructions again found here starting at Step 5.

If only one of the U-Shake shakers is not working in the ShakePad, the issue could be related to either the U-Shake6 amplifier or the shaker in the ShakePad. To determine which one is defective:

  1. Unplug the USB cord to the U-Shake6 box and disconnect the Power Supply Unit for approximately 5 minutes, then re-connect the both the U-Shake6 box and Power Supply Unit. This will allow the U-Shake6 to reset internally.

  2. Connect a spare speaker wire to connector pins for the shaker that is not working. Use the image below to identify the appropriate pins taking note of the positive and negative terminals.
  3. Connect the other end of the speaker wire to a working output on the U-Shake6 amplifier. Please take note of the corresponding pins on the U-Shake6 output.

  4. In Sim Racing Studio, go to SETUP > Hardware and in the Shaker section click the Test button for the working channel you connected the speaker wire.

  5. If the shaker begins to vibrate/shake in the ShakePad when connected to a different channel, the issue is the U-Shake6 amplifier and will need to be replaced. Please submit a New Support Ticket from the top of this page indicating: "I used the U-Shake6 Troubleshooting instructions for Only one U-Shake6 shaker is not working and my amplifier is defective. Please send a replacement to {your name} at {your current address}."

  6. If the shaker does not vibrate/shaker in the Shakepad when connected to a different channel, the issue is the shaker and the ShakePad will need to be replaced. Please submit a New Support Ticket from the top of this page or from our Contact Us page  here indicating: "I used the U-Shake6 Troubleshooting instructions for Only one U-Shake6 shaker is not working and my shaker is defective. Please send a replacement to {your name} at {your current address}."
